After decades of talk and inaction, humanity is at a turning point following a series of climate disasters.
Those who want urgent action create the Future Imperative, an international collaboration to drive forward the big solutions that the planet badly needs.
But the few with the most to lose have other ideas, while many feel that only with force can climate justice be achieved. Will humanity survive?
The Future Imperative is a team-based megagame where players will take on the roles of country leaders, UN officials, corporate interests and climate activists.
Set in the near-future, Future Imperative draws on real-life science and climate challenges to explore what global action on climate change might look like.
It is a semi-serious game. While it will encourage reflection on what solutions and challenges might look like, it also encourages players to be creative in the fictional world, and promises to create emergent story-telling as competing interests try to realise their objectives.

We will ask for your preferences in advance of the team, and try to allocate players to their preferred teams. But we can’t guarantee to manage that for everyone, as all the roles need filled! If you are attending with friends and would like to be on the same team then there will be an opportunity to request this.
