Eve
Projects Officer
“Serious gaming is an incredible research tool, with the potential to expand our knowledge and awareness of social, political, and structural issues and inequalities through a fun and creative method. It encourages players to collaborate and engage with serious subjects, working together to create solutions that can translate to effective real-world change.”
Eve is the project officer at Socialudo, acting as a researcher for Vikki and Alasdair gathering data and helping with report writing for various serious game projects.
Eve Maynard is also a PhD researcher in the department of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Stirling. Her work examines the potential use of video games as an effective subjective well-being approach amongst older adults in the UK. Eve’s work also focuses on the current use of serious video games, particularly related to health and well-being.
Her research interests include feminist social theory, social inequalities, and media effects. Eve also previously completed her undergraduate and Masters studies at the University of Stirling, analysing gender-based representations and inequalities in contemporary video game titles.

"Before working at Socialudo, I did not have much experience playing board games. Alasdair and Vikki have been working very hard to make me into an expert game player, so I have had the amazing opportunity to try out lots of fun and creative new games…that being said, Cluedo is still my favourite!"

"My superpower would be to talk to animals! I am a dog lover first and a human second, so I would really love to know what my little dog is saying when she’s talking to me."
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

"I am an avid video gamer! There is nothing I enjoy more than relaxing and playing a new game (and winning!). I love horror and fantasy, so my favourite game franchises are Dark Souls, The Legend of Zelda, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill!"
